107 Covid cases in Panjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh
The northern region states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh together reported 107 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, while there was no death. Punjab reported 42 of the new cases, while Haryana recorded 30, and Himachal Pradesh 35.
Punjab’s overall tally of 6,03,739 cases includes 16,619 deaths. On Sunday, the state vaccinated 12,721 people, of which 3,217 got the first dose and 9,504 received the second. Punjab had 385 active cases on the day, while its laboratories conducted 27,784 tests for Covid-19. The state’s positivity rate was 0.15%.
Gurgaon and Panchkula remain the hotspots in Haryana, where 28 patients recovered on Sunday and no one died. Even as the recovery rate dipped, Sonipat became a Covid-free district. Gurgaon reported 17 new cases, followed by Panchkula (7), Faridabad (5), and Kurukshetra (1). The state’s cumulative Covid count is 7,72,019 cases, 7,61,712 recoveries, 10,055 deaths, and 229 active cases.
Of the state’s active patients, 185 are in home isolation. The recovery rate was 98.66% and the fatality rate =stable at 1.30%, while the day’s positivity rate was 0.08%. OF the 45,130 vaccines that the state administered, 9,598 were first doses and 35,532 second. Himachal Pradesh reported 68 recoveries, while its overall tally of 2,27, 939 includes 606 active cases, 2,23,473 recoveries, and 3,843 deaths. Kangra and Solan districts reported eight new cases each, followed by Shimla and Una (7 each), Chamba (2), Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Kullu (1 each). Kangra district reported 21 recoveries, followed by Solan (17), Una (12), Shimla (9), Mandi (5), and Hamirpur (4).
Kangra district had 145 active cases, followed by Una (115), Shimla (101), Mandi (90), Hamirpur (61), Solan (50), Bilaspur (21), Chamba (10), Kullu (6), Sirmaur (5), and Kinnaur (2).
